Bumbazi was born from a love of kilim textiles and a desire to bring them out of the home and into the world - reimagined as beautifully crafted travel bags.
Our founder’s passion for kilim began in interiors. Her home is filled with kilim rugs and cushions, and this obsession soon spilled over into her personal style, using a Moroccan kilim cushion cover as a clutch bag. At this point it became clear: a kilim bag needed to exist.
We were drawn to the colours, the patterns, and above all, the texture of kilim - a tactile quality we felt was missing from modern accessories, that adds depth and character to personal style.
Bumbazi began with kilim belts and wash bags, quickly expanding into duffles and overnight bags before launching as a cohesive collection. Today, our duffles remain our signature piece and best seller - the heart of our kilim creations.
