Our founder is from Gloucestershire in the Cotswolds, so designing a line inspired by this landscape felt instinctive. It’s a place we knew we could confidently capture the essence of: unfussy, authentic, and quietly iconic in the most British sense.
When we began designing the Cotswold Line, one colour kept returning: khaki.
Not the polished, over-styled khaki of a runway, but the lived-in shade of the countryside itself. The colour of plus fours on a cold morning. Of tweed field jackets softened by years of wear. Of muddy Land Rovers outside the local pub and wellies by cottage doors. In the Cotswolds, khaki isn’t a trend - it’s a constant.
But as with all Bumbazi bags, we never take ourselves too seriously. While the countryside may be timeless, our approach is always a little playful. So we introduced subtle pops of blue and pink - unexpected touches that bring warmth and character.
They reflect something often misunderstood about rural life. The English countryside isn’t stiff or overly traditional; it’s relaxed, generous, and quietly full of personality. There’s a certain charm in wearing a field coat older than you are.
British country style is built to last. Old field jackets and wellies endure because they’re made well, not because they’re "in" or fashionable. Trends come and go elsewhere, but life here moves more slowly. Quality matters. Longevity is the rule.
That’s exactly what we wanted the Cotswold Line to embody: bags that feel familiar from the first wear, built to last, and full of character.
This collection isn’t trying to reinvent the countryside aesthetic. It’s simply honouring it - with a subtle Bumbazi twist.
